The Tweed & Area Arts Council is proud to host Alan Rhody at the Marble Arts Centre on Sunday, October 14 at 2 p.m. He is an American singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee, with a career spanning almost 5 decades. Alan has written hit songs for several popular artists including The Oak Ridge Boys, the Good Brothers, Murray McLauchlan, Ricky Van Shelton and others. He released his tenth album collection, “Farther On” in 2017; it includes co-writes with Guy Clark, Murray McLauchlan and others, plus solo works. “He has earned a level of respect and recognition that places him in the vanguard of pioneers of the contemporary roots music movement.” (Toronto Star). Robert Oermann, noted American music journalist and historian, wrote: “If you've never seen this Nashville singer-songwriter perform, you're missing out on one of our most entertaining and amusing acoustic troubadours”.
