Welcome to the Municipality of Tweed!
Tweed, ON – On June 22, local MPP Ric Bresee joined Mayor DeGenova, members of Tweed Council, and CAO Ron Diskey at the Emily Trudeau Splash Pad to celebrate a $15,700 Capital grant they received from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).
“I’m really happy to see the Ontario government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming’s Ontario Trillium Foundation, supporting these improvements to the Municipality of Tweed’s splash pad,” said Ric Bresee, MPP for Hastings – Lennox and Addington. “It’s wonderful to see the kids of all ages having a great time and enjoying the outdoors!”
The funding supported the replacement of a damaged splash pad component with a new leaf shaped spray feature—enhancing both the safety and play experience of this well-loved community space. The upgraded fixture ensures families can continue to enjoy the splash pad as a vibrant and accessible summertime destination.
The Municipality of Tweed’s Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing safe, accessible spaces and programs that support active living, strengthen community connections, and enhance the overall well-being of residents and visitors.
The Municipality extends its sincere thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for its continued support in building healthy, vibrant communities.
