Total Burn Ban
Effective immediately the Municipality of Tweed has a total burn ban in place due to extremely dry conditions. A total burn ban means that there is no burning at all including campfires. Please refer to By-law 2021-10 for additional information.

Fire Restrictions in Place
Very High Fire Status
Fires start easily from all causes and immediately after ignition, spread rapidly and increase quickly in intensity.
Spot fires are a constant danger.
Fires burning in light fuels may quickly develop high intensity characteristics such as long range spotting and fire whirlwinds when they burn in heavier fuels.
Extreme caution must be used in any burning

Storm Update August 8
The Municipality of Tweed is still in a State of Emergency and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. The emergency control group continues to meet and are in a transitional stage. We have moved from the initial emergency response and are working towards addressing the remaining hazards. Once these hazards have been addressed, we will move into the recovery stage.
